How We Support the UKBA Vision at Inspire Breathwork
Supporting the UK Breathwork Association’s Vision for Breathwork in the UK
At Inspire Breathwork, we’re proud to stand alongside the UK Breathwork Association (UKBA) in its mission to grow a professional, ethical, and accessible breathwork field across the UK. The UKBA is the central hub for breathwork practice and training in the UK, committed to establishing breathwork as a respected and regulated therapeutic discipline.
What is the UKBA?
The UK Breathwork Association is a professional body for breathwork practitioners, facilitators, and training providers. It upholds a clear ethical framework, supports professional development, and hosts a public registry to help people find trusted, certified facilitators.
Its core aims include:
Maintaining high standards of care, ethics, and professionalism
Supporting the growth of breathwork into public sectors like the NHS, education, and mental health
Offering a practitioner directory, CPD opportunities, and a shared framework for ethical facilitation
Hannah Kendaru: A UKBA Director Committed to Standards and Integrity
Hannah Kendaru, founder of Inspire Breathwork, is one of the directors of the UK Breathwork Association. Her mission within the UKBA is to uphold rigorous professional standards across the field of breathwork.
Hannah’s work includes:
Co-writing the UKBA Professional Standards for practice and training
Creating practitioner resources to support ethical, inclusive, and trauma-informed breathwork
Consulting on diversity, equity, and access in breathwork and somatic practice
At Inspire Breathwork, these values are embedded in our own training- making it one of the few programs in the UK that not only aligns with UKBA’s standards but helps to define them.
Breathwork in Healthcare and Public Institutions
The UKBA’s Vision for 2030 is to have 500+ certified practitioners operating across public and private settings—from GP surgeries and schools to mental health clinics and hospitals.
Inspire Breathwork shares this vision. Our 2-year trauma-informed facilitator training equips students with the skills and integrity to offer breathwork professionally and safely in complex settings. Graduates from Inspire are well positioned to become UKBA-accredited practitioners and actively participate in this growing movement.
Why Choose a UKBA-Accredited Training?
As the breathwork field grows, so does the need for clarity, safety, and professional accountability. The UKBA exists to help aspiring facilitators make informed choices when selecting a training program.
UKBA-accredited providers like Inspire Breathwork meet a recognised standard for:
Trauma-informed facilitation
Ethics and consent
Client safety and integration
Community care and accessibility
Looking for a course that’s both spiritually grounded and professionally rigorous?
Supporting Practitioners-CPD, Supervision, and Peer Learning
The UKBA also supports breathworkers after certification by offering:
Continued professional development (CPD)
Monthly peer supervision groups
Guidance for case discussions and clinical practice
A central place to share research, learning, and events
As an Inspire Breathwork graduate, you’ll have direct access to these growing networks- and contribute to the evolution of breathwork as a legitimate, trauma-informed healing modality.
