are you curious what it means to be a breathwork facilitator in our current context?

Inspire Breathwork Facilitator Training is a comprehensive 2-year program that fully equips you to become an accredited breathwork therapist. With this breathwork facilitator training, you will be able to work professionally anywhere in the world.

This training goes beyond traditional approaches by integrating embodied social justice principles and embracing a decolonial framework. The first of its kind. With a keen focus on addressing the wounds of our modern context, this training empowers participants to facilitate healing and transformation in a way that is sensitive to systemic oppressions and fosters inclusive, equitable spaces.

We are here to tread the line between ancient wisdom and the modern world. This is a decolonised course curriculum that honours the path of breathwork through a decolonial human lens.

Course Objectives:

  1. To cultivate a space for people to learn from. To bring into action and feel confident to bring breathwork therapy to their community in the form that makes sense for their people.

  2. To hold an accessible space for people to dive into their own personal journey of healing, deepening their practice, listening somatically, exploring both personal indigeneity and collective modernism and create space for their expansion as displaced beings.

  3. To initiate a sustainable practice of community care that is decolonial, survivor-centred, trauma-led, consent based, informed, agency-informed and embodied.

  4. Be an informed foundation for all interested in a decolonial healing,  breathwork and the cultivation of a loving future and be part of a movement that brings breathwork out of the wellness industry and into accessible health care.

This training is a 2-year hybrid online and in-person training.

For the first year, we will meet twice a week. One session is a 2.5hr class and the other is a 1.5hr Breathwork session.

For the second year, we will meet monthly for 1.5hr supervision sessions.

Who is this training for?

This course is for you if you are passionate about breathwork and its transformative potential in promoting healing and social justice. If you found this page, we need your help to divest from the whiteness of the wellness industry and participate in collectives that are creating powerful alternatives. This course is for those who want to be in systems of loving justice and attend to the wounds of our current modern context. This course is for if you want to actively address systemic oppressions and bring the politics of life into our therapeutic understandings of healing our bodies, minds and spirits.

The First Year

We will be meeting twice a week. The class element is 2.5hrs long and is an engaging content based, participatory session. Students are encourage to show up for those time ready to engage, to talk, to discuss and share ideas. This first year is where all the fundamental content blocks are delivered.

The breathwork element is 1.5hrs long and used for our own processing, a space dedicated to our inner journeys as individuals moving through a process of decolonial healing.

We will also have weekly breathwork sessions for students of the Global Majority on Sundays at 11am UK Time for 1.5hrs.

The Second Year

We will be meeting once a month. This year is a year of active supervision of the training. This is to support your personal practice and the development of your sustainable business system.

This is where you action the learning blocks from the first year and put them into practice.

This is where you will start to conduct the research element of this course. This research will inform you who your people are what are the best ways to attend to your community.

By the end of this year, you will have a written up case-study ready to publish to the breathwork community.

Immersions

It is a requirement to meet in-person as a cohort once during the second year of training for 5 days.

This in-person immersion will be held in the UK in July.

The course fee does not include the immersion fee or travel costs to it. I will generally work to keep immersion fees around £1300.

As well as required immersions, desired immersions will arise. There are immersions between students and teachers to meet when possible. These desired immersions are self-created and self-contained.

The Course Outline: 4 Levels

The course is spiralic in nature, we will consistently return to the modules in each level, and yet dive deeper into the topic.

  • SOIL

This is a foundational Breathwork course that covers breath functionality, the different types of breathwork and breath limitations. This course also covers an introduction to trauma through a decolonial lens.

  • ROOTS

This is a level that begins the journey of Breathwork Facilitation. This course covers the elements of breath facilitation and what it means to cultivate a role in healing for communities and clients. We cover the ethical framework, consent, the politics of trauma and develop the response-abilities you have as an individual.

  • CORE

This is a level that honours the core principles of breathwork facilitation. A decolonial approach asks us to interrogate the role of the medicine person, systems of oppression, systems of injustice, consent, the politics of trauma, consent and relational ethics.

This will provide the framework of bringing breathwork to communities, to honour the histories of our collective trauma and ways breathwork can attend to the reclamation of self.

Starting your practice and honing your skills.

  • TREE

This is a level that deepens the understanding of trauma on a collective level, addressing the ways capitalism, colonialism, institutional oppression and racialised justice effect our communities. Learning the tools to work with conflict and consent. This will be the time where you get to practice and learn together.

In this level, we will put what we have learned into practice and start working with others in order to develop the skills needed.

Entering processes of peer learning, feedback and collective accountability, we will activate what it means to be part of the evolution of breathwork.

Our course is designed with a spiralic structure, meaning that rather than moving through topics in a linear fashion, we continuously return to each module as you progress through the levels. This approach allows for a deepening of understanding with each revisit. Like a spiral, you’ll encounter the same foundational concepts at different stages of your learning journey, but each time from a new perspective and with greater depth.

This method reflects the natural rhythms of learning and personal growth, where revisiting and re-engaging with key themes allows you to integrate and embody the knowledge more fully. As you advance, you’ll find that each return to a module reveals new insights, deepens your comprehension, and enhances your ability to apply what you’ve learned in real-world scenarios. This cyclical process ensures that your learning is not only cumulative but also transformative, as you continuously build upon and refine your understanding, leading to a more profound innerstanding of the topics.

How much time shall I dedicate to this training?

In the first six months of the training, you will be required to join the classes, breathwork sessions and attend to your learning partner sessions. This total will be around 6 hours a week. The reading is optional - and there may be books that are more relevant to your work than on the reading list. (Some students have created a reading groups, caucus groups, other focus groups outside of class to help with learning and accountability - this is up to you).

In the second six months, you will start facilitating 1-to-1 breathwork for your peers online and for those that are ready, offline to your community. This will require some homework and preparation. This is also where we start looking at the communities we want to support, this is the time to start thinking about your breathwork practice as a business. This will inevitably take up time in your thought space and movements.

In the second year, you will be conducting breathwork as research and learning. You may charge for your sessions at this point. We will be meeting once a month for 1.5hrs, but you are expected to be facilitating on a regular basis and continue meeting with a learning partner for peer-to-peer mentorship.

This year will be where you get very clear on who your people are, and start to write up your research. By the end of the year, you will have a case-study on what kind of breathwork, what approach and what you learned works best with a specific group of people of your choice.

This year will also reveal to you who and why you practice. By the end of the course, you will have a website, a business structure, a salary goal and clarity on how you practice. This will also take some time outside of class.

We will also gather for 1 week in the second year. This is a required immersion in the UK in July of your second year.

Course Start Dates:

April 2025

October 2025

April 2026

Supremacy Culture and Capitalism depend on our disembodiment. It is a radical act to breathe and remember our bodies.

Train My Community: Renegade Breathwork Training

As part of Inspire Breathwork’s mission to de-centre whiteness and supremacy culture, we are on a mission to train as many people from marginalised communities as possible.

It is hard to welcome marginalised communities into alternative healing when we don’t have practitioners to welcome them and hold them safely with lived experience and knowledge. If you are part of an organisation or community that would like to be trained, then please get in contact.

This initiative will be funded through organisations, grants and donations to allow communities that would never have access to this tool. Ideally, we would like to champion 5-10 members of your community to become professional Breathwork Therapists and provide this service to your people.
